Coney Island Style Brunch at Full Circle Bar

September 4th, 2010 · No Comments · Alcohol, Bagels, Brooklyn, Unique Brunch, Williamsburg

When the guys behind Full Circle Bar opened up shop in Williamsburg in Fall 2009, they aimed to infuse the fun and nostalgia of Coney Island with a chill place to hang out and have a drink. As the national home to Brewskee-Ball, the first-ever competitive Skee-Ball league, the bar’s claim to fame is definitely skeeball including four lanes, stadium seating and a Brewskee-Ball Wall of Fame. The entire place from the sign outside to the bathroom mirrors and even the bar itself is meticulously accented with skeeball paraphernalia.

But the tribute to Coney Island doesn’t merely stop at skeeball. Just after opening, the bar began serving Coney Island hot dogs with your choice of toppings including a few epicurean inspired toppings like Jalapeno Ketchup and Horseradish Mayo. More recently, the bar introduced New York City hand-twisted Jumbo Pretzels that are usually served with mustard or cheese sauce.

On Saturdays and Sundays from 2-8pm, however, Full Circle Bar serves up Everything Pretzels with cream cheese for a new take on weekend brunch. Forget your local bagel shop, these pretzels are warm and chewy and topped with classic “everything” spices like salt, onion, poppy and sesame seeds. Add a side of cream cheese for dipping and you’ve got the best Coney Island style brunch this side of the boardwalk.

Plus, all the pretzels are coated in Guinness before going into the oven, so you can feel even better about pairing your pretzel with one of their signature brunch drinks. Full Circle Bar has its own version of the bloody mary called the BROTY Mary, which is suitably served in a pint glass (BROTY is a skeeball reference to the Best Roller of the Year). There’s also the pint-sized Brewmosa, a Full Circle Wheat beer with orange juice, but if you want something a bit stronger, I’d recommend adding a shot of vodka to turn it into a Manmosa.

The Everything Pretzel with cream cheese will only set you back $3 and its only a few bucks more to pair it with a Brewmosa or a BROTY Mary, which means you’ll have plenty of cash to hit the skeeball lanes afterwards. If you’re looking for a unique and nostalgic brunch experience, make sure you check out Full Circle Bar one upcoming weekend.
