Two New Spots for All-You-Can-Drink Brunch

September 4th, 2009 · No Comments · Alcohol, All You Can Drink Brunch, East Village, Financial District, West Village

Last week I hosted a birthday brunch fiesta at Maracas, the lively West Village joint known more for its cheesy, but obnoxiously fun, Mexican party atmosphere than for its $5 unlimited drinks brunch special. While the all-you-can-drink NYC brunch is certainly not new, it has recently been gaining some momentum as restaurants look for new ways to attract diners in a sluggish economy.

Bottomless brunch stalwarts like sister restaurants Bondi Road and The Sunburnt Cow, Intermezzo, and Hell’s Kitchen are still good options, but now there are a couple new guys on the block that want to get you buzzed.

Smorgas Chef – The Scandinavian restaurant group is now serving unlimited champagne and champagne cocktails at their 53 Stone St. location in the financial district. It’s only $10 more for the unlimited deal, but if everyone in your party opts in, you get champagne bottle service to mix your own cocktails at the table (and avoid waiting for the server for a refill).

Yerba BuenaThis East Village latin culinary sensation started serving unlimited brunch drinks for $12 earlier this year, but they just recently opened a new location at 1 Perry St in the West Village. While the new location doesn’t serve brunch yet (they say it’s coming soon), it will be just a short wait until you can get their spicy Jalapeño Bloody Mary in unlimited quantities on whatever side of the Village you prefer.
